London Championship Show Saturday 12 September 2009
Rivermead Leisure Centre, Richfield Avenue, Reading, RG1 8EQ
Entries must be in by 10pm Tuesday 8 September.
I am unclear on whether this is an NGS or open show. There is apparently a charge for entry as it isn't exclusively a gerbil show but has rabbits, mice, etc as well. There is also a parking fee.
I can post the rest of the info if required; I've typed the above out of the Nibbler.

Yep; I'm entering all of mine as I speak...erm, type!
Although I've just realised I've entered 6 tanks of gerbils; I will need at least 7 carry-cases (or 6 counting 2 with dividers) and I only have 4!
I also need some more bedding and the show's Saturday after next. Aaaand I've gotta figure out how I'm going to get me and 18 gerbils to the other side of London from out in the sticks by 10:30 am...
This should be educational. I had two pups from Raishe and Ariathe's first litter that I thought might do quite well - then my brother pulled the end of Tasmin's tail off. Guess that leaves it up to Phyri to uphold the honour of the Gerbil Front! lol
I'm not sure that either Petie or Karus will last until the show as they're acting old now, but they climb straight out of the tank given the chance, so I guess they wouldn't like being left behind! As it is, neither stand a chance. Ariathe, Nakiten and Tasmin all have shortened tails and Sarek has a fixed wrist, so they're unlikely to place.
Mesieth has a tooth that needs trimming; I'll try getting that done on Thursday as I'm going near the vet's anyway. Having an overlong tooth doesn't seem to be affecting his eating as he's put on about 11 grams since I last weighed him 5 weeks ago.
I'll let you guys know how they got on if none of you show up there. ;D

Ooh good luck ;D Take a camera! Some of us unfortunates will be working on the day so won't be able to attend - dying to get to one of the big shows though.

Good luck Solitaire, hope the show goes well for you. You're going to need a seriously big backpack to transport 18 gerbils across London!
I thought about going but the journey takes ages, even by car. Last time I went I got stuck on the M25 for about an hour in blistering heat and then hit another load of traffic in Reading too. I really would like to go but I don't fancy tackling that again with my baby and toddler in tow ...
BTW, whereabouts in Kent are you?

Over near Bluewater.
Forgot the camera. Some of my guys placed; there was a bigger turnout than Enfield but not by much!
