When are the next shows for 2010?

When are the next shows for 2010 please? The NGS website recommends shows as a good place to find healthy gerbils for breeding. Is it common for breeders to sell gerbils at gerbil shows?

Have a look on the NGS website for the 2010 shows, as far as I’m aware there are 2 maybe 3 a year.

Yes animals are sold at shows, some have strict rules were you can only collect them as there are no open sales ie pre-arranged sales with breeders are allowed but you cannot take along extra gerbils in the hope you can sell them.
Again, this depends on the show and you would have to look on the NGS website. Usually the larger or ‘major’ shows such as Bradford, London Champs and Stafford do not allow the open sales.

I think you need to become a member of the NGS and get the Nibbler - it lists the next 2 or 3 shows pending.

If it's any help to anyone, I've been told that the regular shows that used to be held at Enfield are no longer going ahead.

The next show in the South should therefore be the London Championship at Reading, I think that's usually at the beginning of September?

Sounds like the Enfield shows are relocating, but I forget where...I think it adds another hour or two onto my journey though!

The Enfield shows were supposed to be relocating but the last I heard it hadn't been possible to arrange an alternative venue.

The Reading show is the first weekend in September - I know what you mean about the extra journeying but as there aren't any shows at Enfield I'll make the effort to get there this year.

Is anyone else planning to go?

I am planning to visit the show next year - it would be nice to meet again:)
by the way - next one probably will be somwher in Sussex at the beginning of January ( that is what I have heard)
