The 2008 ones are actually still online (so far), July 29th was the date given to when the calendar would change from 2008 format to 2009, however it must be taking them a little while longer to do it, so if you want 2008's you'd better hurry!

I wanted to ask, will there be a 2011 gerbil calendar available to buy anywhere? I would love to have a gerbil calendar next year with a different gerbil colour for each month, or just a series of lovely gerbil photos. I don`t have a paypal account, but can pay by personal cheque or postal order. I can pay online using my debit visa card, but my PC is old and my anti-virus is`nt up to date, so I don`t want to buy anything using my card online until I get a new Laptop, hopefully this year.
Hope a 2011 calendar is on the cards?

I'm not sure, but I doubt it. I know Loz tried to see if anyone wanted to see their gerbils in the 2010 calandar, but received only a very few pics from members. So rather than half kill herself making the template and getting another one ready, just to end up in dissapointment, I told her not to bother lol. The gerbil community is a rather lazy one! Ed

The gerbil community is a rather lazy one! Or busy with other things.

That too lol, one can only juggle so many balls at once and other things have higher priority than a calendar that everyone wants then nobody buys.
One of the reasons we try to do things like this is not to just benefit the members but to also to raise a little money to help keep the sites (namely eGerbil) we host online. I think people don't think that large websites cost money to run and clearly must think Ed has very deep pockets!
Personally I would bang advertising on everything since people are so unwilling to contribute to the community (wherever they are nowadays), yet expect so much in return, but who am I to question how Ed runs his site.

I bought one! (2009) Still have it! I would buy another, but I understand if no one else buy's one, what's the point of going through trouble!
Just a thought, maybe the photo contest pictures could be used to make a new calendar? WAIT, even a better Idea...... Put the winners on the calendar! ;D

LOL... Wait..... here's another idea. They could be prizes for the winners!
EDIT: I take that back, wouldn't be fair for Ed or whoever to spend the money on the calendars just to give out as prizes!!

Dave, that`s a great idea. It`s a shame a calendar can`t be produced for sale because our mouse forum members all got together a few years ago and the administrators took names who genuinely wanted a calendar and because there was high demand, she went ahead and had them made up. The photos were themed into Easter, Spring, Summer, Winter, Christmas etc... it was really nice and the images used were what Dave was saying, taken both from entries sent in, or from the photo competition winners. I just like the long style calendar with the one image at the top and all the dates running down the page below. The `slimline` calendars. They usually sell for around £4.99p (without p&p of course) but if most `genuine` members sent a PM to the boss and said, yes, I want my name down for a 2011 calendar, then once all the names are gathered, we could be sent a message for payment once the calendars were ready? Oh well.........I guess it`s a nice idea but it`s down to people committing to it.

If we get enough interest in the shows we'll be doing perhaps we can use the entries or winners as a calendar. At least then I'm won't be sitting waiting for photos and hoping for some participation from people that might want calendars but don't want the hassle of helping out.

This calendar is available in the UK on a website called www.calendarclub.co.uk/. It`s £9.99p. I`ve never seen a gerbil calendar on sale before so thought it was great that one was commercially available! Although I was hoping it would be a slimline version and not the larger version. I prefer the slimline calendars as they give you a longer `bar` line to write dates on, rather than the squares on the larger calendars.

How about sticking a "donate now" button somewhere visible on the site? I'm sure many regular posters, myself included, would be more than happy to contribute towards the upkeep of the site.
